Senior Analytical Development Scientist—Analytical and Formulations Manager

REPORTS TO: Director of CMC and QA

POSITION TYPE: Full time

SALARY RANGE: Negotiable based upon experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Analytical Development Scientist to perform methods development, qualification and tech transfer of assays for the analysis of nanopolymer containing formulations. The successful candidate will manage the analytical team within the CMC group.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Master's degree in biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology or related field with 5+ yrs. relevant experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry; Ph.D. preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in analytical methods development through validation of release assays supporting drug substance and drug product testing.
  • Experience contracting/managing CROs for product release testing from tech transfer to validation.
  • Authoring/reviewing reports and IND filings. Strong documentation and communication skills are very important.
  • Ability to build and manage small teams to complete projects with aggressive timelines.
  • Extensive experience with, colorimetric assay, chromatography (size exclusion, ion exchange and reversed-phase), fluorescence assays for the analysis of polymer protein and peptide containing samples/formulations using analytical instrumentation such as UPLC/HPLC, LC-MS, plate readers, light scattering and capillary electrophoresis) is required.
  • Experience with chemical and physical characterization of polymers.
  • Proactive, excellent timeline-focused problem-solving skills on multiple tasks oriented towards an overall goal, detail oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, to plan and prioritize tasks to meet timeline and overall goal and work efficiently.
  • A working knowledge of statistics is a must.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
