New Hampshire offers several options for transportation within its borders. Major automobile routes include four Interstates: I-89 heading north from Concord, I-91 along the Vermont-New Hampshire border; I-93; and I-95 paralleling the Atlantic coast and crossing northeast New Hampshire.

Air travel in New Hampshire is served primarily by the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT), the state’s largest airport and located in close proximity to Boston, Massachusetts; over 4.4 million passengers use the airport each year. Portsmouth International Airport (PSM) at Pease serves southeastern New Hampshire, and Lebanon Municipal Airport serves the region between the White Mountains of New Hampshire and the Green Mountains of Vermont. Other major airports in close proximity to New Hampshire include Logan International Airport in Boston and Portland International Airport in Maine.

The Granite State offers rail travel primarily through Amtrak; the Vermonter route, extending from Washington, D.C. to St. Albans, Vermont and with a stop in Claremont; and the Downeaster route extending from Portland, Maine to Boston, Massachusetts.

Public transportation options are available in New Hampshire. The Manchester Transit Authority (MTA) offers mass transit to the Manchester community via 14 routes. The Nashua Transit System (NTS) offers service via 6 public bus fixed routes with its CityBus, and demand-response paratransit service. Concord offers Concord Area Transit (CAT).

New Hampshire offers a selection of intercity bus service providers. Among these are Greyhound Lines, C & J Trailways, Concord Trailways, Peter Pan Bus Lines, and Vermont Transit Lines.
